About Me

Hey there!

My name is Ryan. I am 24 years old living in Brooklyn, NYC.

My passion lies at the intersection of music and visual art. Between music videos, light shows at concerts, art installations, and film… there is nothing better to me than being immersed in a multi-media experience.

I’m particularly fascinated with the phenomenon of synaesthesia where people can “see” music or “hear” colors. I experience this myself as sounds take on visual forms and compositions become moving sculptures of colors, textures, and shapes. Part of it is subconscious and part of it is imagination, but nonetheless, the relationship between color and sound is something I seek to better understand and leverage in my work.

In my final year of grad school at NYU, I am building an interactive audio-visualizer for live music performances that translates parameters of the audio into generative visual animations. The goal is to create a flexible system that uses synaesthetic principles to immerse the audience in visual worlds created from the music. The visualizer is being built to support spatial audio and 3D graphics, so my hope is that this audio-visualizer is a step toward to creating a new form of immersive concert experiences.

Outside of school, I am writing and recording my first album called “Dream, Goal, Things”.  I am documenting the process through YouTube videos. You can listen to the current album demo’s here:
