Below are samples of some my TouchDesigner projects.
This audio visualizer uses amplitude and pitch analysis to effect the parameters of instanced tori (or Sprinkle-O’s as I prefer to call them).
This one uses an audio waveform to modulate a particle system based on the normals on a circle. The generated visuals are then run through blur and feedback effects with some camera automation for the final result.
Another audio visualizer based on a particle system. Music: NAPZ – Iceland
I have learned TouchDesigner primarily from following Matthew Ragan’s tutorials and classes online. Most of my projects have come from following tutorials, but I am looking forward to spending more time applying that knowledge on custom projects.
For the past few years, I have been focused on writing music, but my goal is to create a custom audio visualizer system for my band’s live shows using the knowledge and programing skills that I’ve accumulated over the years.
If you enjoy these audio visualizations, you may want to check out some of my AV short films where I’ve designed visuals, and then composed music to match it or vice versa.
I also program in Max/MSP/Jitter where I’ve carried out the following projects: The Color Keyboard, SYNTHesthesia, Synth Cube, and my custom VJ rig.
